Headteacher at Holme Grange School
An experienced and visionary Headteacher since 2001, Claire is currently leading an independent school in Wokingham since Jan 2009. Claire has successfully led the school through change and increased the age range to teach pupils up to GCSE, increasing the pupil numbers by 250% during her tenure to date. Claire has also experience as a governor of both state and independent schools.
Before Holme Grange, Claire had a successful sales career in finance and then worked in the state education sector as a Primary School teacher and Headteacher. A Governor of two other schools, Claire is also Chair of the ISTIP, the Independent Schools Teacher Induction Panel, an ISI inspector, a NACE (National Association for the Able Child in Education) Associate, and was awarded ‘Headteacher of the Year in a Primary School for the South of England’ in 2005; she champions a truly holistic education for every child.
