Founder, CEO & Trustee
Julia Harrington is an experienced educator with almost 30 years experience in the sector. She has taught history and politics, and was Headmistress at Queen Anne’s School for over 14 years. During her time here, she was the Head’s Conference representative on the ASCL Council, and she is currently an elected member of the Chartered College of Teaching Council and an Independent Governor at Oxford Brookes University. She sits on the advisory board at the Tony Little Centre for Innovation and Research in Learning at Eton College.
Professor of Applied Neuroscience and chartered psychologist
Patricia Riddell is Professor of Applied Neuroscience and a chartered psychologist. She has written articles, chapters and a book in developmental psychology, neuroscience, coaching and leadership. She designed and runs the Neuroscience for Teaching programme. Her academic qualifications include degrees from University of Glasgow (BSc) and Imperial College (MSc), and the University of Oxford (DPhil).
Director of Teaching and Learning at Eton College and CIRL
Jonnie Noakes is Director of The Tony Little Centre for Innovation and Research in Learning at Eton College. CIRL is a centre for pedagogical excellence, evidence-informed practice and research into teaching, learning and leadership in education. He is an expert in character education, with two decades of experience in teaching emotional intelligence and a deep knowledge of boarding education.
Trustee
Roy started his working life as a teacher, after which he became Education Officer for a Local Authority before spending ten years in the civil service which led to him travelling around Europe negotiating bi-lateral and multi-lateral treaties for HM Government.
Between 1999 and 2019, Roy was Clerk to the United Westminster Schools/Grey Coat Hospital Foundation, an ancient (1594) charity which has strong links with Westminster Abbey. He was also Clerk to the governing bodies of the schools which make up the Foundation, an unusual mixture of independent and state schools, the latter being inner city academies.
Trustee & Headteacher Holme Grange School
An experienced and visionary Headteacher since 2001, currently leading an independent school in Wokingham since Jan 2009. Claire has successfully led the school through change and increased the age range to teach pupils up to GCSE, increasing the pupil numbers by 250% during her tenure to date. Claire has also experience as a governor of both state and independent schools.
Consultant and Programme Manager
Ajay spent the first 15 years of his career working in the Telecoms and IT sector as a Programme Manager. He started his career at IBM and then spent 11 years at BT PLC. Ajay had a career change in 2017 and entered the world of education working as a Year 6 form tutor, Computing and Business teacher at Holme Grange School. He spent the last couple of years as the Director of Digital Strategy supporting a variety of IT programmes including SharePoint implementation and the rollout of 1:1 devices.
Trustee
Bill’s business career included 10 years on the Granada Group board as a Divisional Chairman. In 1992 he left Granada to set up Two Way TV, a company developing and implementing live interactive television. Since 2004 he has been actively engaged in angel investing both as investor and non-executive director or Chairman

Lauren Troake
Lauren has a passion for education and community engagement. She is a dedicated trustee at Neuroscience for Education, serving since 2013, and has been involved with Queen Anne's School for over 16 years. She has held multiple roles at the school, including governor and contributing to alumni relations.
