Professor Patricia Riddell

Professor of Applied Neuroscience and chartered psychologist

She is passionate about sharing the expanding knowledge that we have about the brain with educational practitioners, parents and children. She believes they can benefit from knowing how the brain works and, therefore, how we use this knowledge to behave more effectively. She believes that it is not in the knowledge of neuroscience, but in the application of this knowledge, that we can make a difference in our own lives and the lives of the children that we teach and parent.

To put this belief into practice, she designed and delivers the highly successful series of workshops on Neuroscience for Teachers which aims to provide teachers with a means of applying the latest neuroscience in the classroom. This is aimed at teachers and educators in both junior and senior schools.

She has authored many articles, book chapters and a book in the field of leadership coaching and speaks regularly at conferences and to educational practitioners on the topic of neuroscience of education.
